This is a STANDARD cubby hole radio replacement kit for the 1984-1996 Jeep Cherokee XJ and 1986-1992 Jeep Comanche MJ. There are 2 sizes of cubby available, this listing is for the STANDARD size only. The STANDARD size is 4-1/2″ (114 mm) deep and the LARGE size is 7-1/4″ (184 mm) deep. They are both 7-5/8″ (194 mm) wide and 2-5/8″ (67 mm) tall. Its a pain to get it around the steering column but it can be done.2. Remove the old radio if present.3. Install the cubby in the dash. It goes in with the logo and part number facing up towards the windshield.4. Reinstall the dash trim panel. ***DISCLAIMER***- These are printed in black PETG plastic. This plastic has natural UV resistance so the color won’t fade over time and won’t get brittle. This plastic can start to get soft at temperatures of 190*F. Even in extreme environments this shouldn’t be an issue. PETG parts have been used on vehicles for long periods of time without Ill effects.- This is a 3D printed part, this means not all parts will appear or fit exactly the same. I do not accept returns due to it being made to order, however If you have an issue with your part, please contact me and we can work out the issue together.- If you break it due to not following instructions, over-tightening screws, or through use, you can fix it with some super glue or you can message me to purchase a replacement part.- This is a made to order part. This is a trim piece to cover the frequently hacked up radio hole on the 1984-1996 Jeep Cherokee XJ and 1986-1992 Jeep Comanche MJ. There are 2 versions available to match the 2 styles of black dash trim. There is a smooth one for the basic smooth dash and a textured version that includes the bevel around the outside of the hole to match the fancier textured dash. PLEASE NOTE, YOU WILL GET THE TEXTURED VERSION BY DEFAULT UNLESS YOU MESSAGE ME TO LET ME KNOW YOU WANT THE SMOOTH VERSION INSTEAD!! YOU MUST MESSAGE WITHIN 24 HOURS OF YOUR ORDER IF YOU WANT SMOOTH. You will get 1 trim piece per order. These can be painted as well if the plain black isn’t your style! Just use a good plastic paint and primer.INSTALLATION:1. Check the hole in your dash trim for any factory lines from the original radio hole. Use these to align the new repair trim in the correct location. The radio itself can work for alignment but it may not be perfectly centered so be sure to check this.2. Test fit the repair trim to be sure it fits around the radio and practice getting into the position you like.3. Do any fine sanding or trimming needed to the inside to fit your trim/radio.4. Once happy with the fitment, put a little CA (cyanoacrylate) AKA super glue, or any other form of plastics glue you prefer on the back side of the repair trim. A LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY!! You want just enough to make it stay, don’t put so much it squishes out around the edges.5. Carefully put the repair trim into place and hold in place until the glue dries.TIPS: You can take the dash trim out completely if you prefer, this would make gluing and clamping easier potentially. This would also allow you to glue from the backside to ensure a nice and strong fit. ***DISCLAIMER***- These are printed in black PETG plastic. This is a radio screw hole repair kit for the 1984-1996 Jeep Cherokee XJ and 1986-1992 Jeep Comanche MJ. The plastic tab that holds the spring nut can break off of the dash and leave you with no way to fasten the radio to the dash. These will slide onto the lip around the edge of the hole and allow the radio to be mounted properly again. These include new screws and nuts mounted inside the plastic to create a strong mounting point. If both sides aren’t broken you can either only install one or cut the other side out and install both so you have secure mounts on both sides. That’s up to you. These are only available in a kit of 2. INSTALLATION:1. Test fit the repair clips to ensure they fit all the way onto the lip.2. Cleanup any remaining plastic bits in the square hole that used to hold the spring nut. This often breaks off completely so there may be no cleanup necessary.3. Once happy with the fitment, put a little CA (cyanoacrylate) AKA super glue, or any other form of plastics glue you prefer on the inside edges of the clip and push it into place. A LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY!! You want just enough to make it stay, don’t put so much it squishes out around the edges.4.
